HENRIETTA HALE
Outside of DKHP I am currently pursuing a collaborative doctoral award with Coventry University's Centre for Dance Research and the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, supported through AHRC funding via Midlands4 Cities. Im exploring TIHR's 70 year archive of work and human relations studies using movement-based performance methods. I'm also still lead tutor on the MA/MFA Creative Practice: dance professional programme run as a partnrship between Trinity Laban, Independent Dance and Siobhan Davies Studios

Previously, I was co-director of Independent Dance between 2018 - 2023. curating and programming artist development, research and participatory learning through classes, workshops, labs, talks and festivals. .www.independentdance.co.uk
Between 2013 - 2017 I co-directed an arts centre for international exchange in rural France called La Traversee, hosting residencies, workshops and monthly performance events - http://la-traversee.com

I performed as an independent dancer for 20 years with a range of UK companies, touring extensively. These included Ricochet Dance Productions, Rosemary Lee Projects, Angela Woodhouse, Yolande Snaith Theatredance, Russell Maliphant, and Diversions Dance Company.
My Teaching practice includes professional classes and workshops in improvisation, somatic movement and choreography. I have taught extensively on the BA and MA/MFA programmes at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London

I have also worked as a collaborator and movement director for visual artist’s projects internationally.
These include performing in Matthew Darbyshire's Oak Effect at Bloomberg Gallery; choreography for Matti Braun's The Alien (Showroom Gallery London and Project Dublin, If I cant Dance festival, Holland); Daria Martin's, Wintergarden at De la Warr Pavillion, and Loneliness of the Modern Pentathlon, Serpentine Gallery, UK; collaborating with Polonca Lovsin, Slovenia/Wysing Arts/Germany for Dynamo Door Dances; and performing in Jonathan Baldock's 2013 exhibition at Wysing Arts in Cambridge.
I completed a BSC degree in psychology with Open University in 2016 and am finding many connections to my performance practice.
